Steinger, Iscoe & Greene Announce Filing of Lawsuit Against Manufacturers of Stand ‘N Seal ‘Spray-On’ Grout Sealer
West Palm Beach, Fla. (PRWEB) March 1, 2007 -- The law firm of Steinger, Iscoe & Greene (www.InjuryLawyers.com) announced that it has filed a complaint against Roanoke Companies Group, Inc., Home Depot U.S.A., Inc., and several other companies that were involved with the sale and/or manufacture of Stand ‘n Seal “Spray-On” Grout Sealer. The complaint was filed on behalf of 29 plaintiffs, who allege that they sustained severe injuries and damages after using and being exposed to toxic chemicals in Stand ‘n Seal.
In the suit, the plaintiffs ask that a jury fairly compensate for the pain and suffering their injuries have resulted in, for reimbursement of medical expenses, and for lost wages. The suit was filed Feb. 28, 2007, in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida (Case No.: 07-60286).
“Our clients purchased a product they thought was safe, when it may have actually caused them to suffer severe injuries,” says Gary T. Iscoe, Co-founder and Senior Partner at Steinger, Iscoe & Greene. “Consumers should be able to have faith in the products they purchase.”
The complaint states that, as a result of using Stand ‘n Seal, the plaintiffs were exposed to hazardous chemicals, and that the companies involved in the product’s manufacture and/or sale allegedly withheld information that the product could pose serious health risks to those who used it. Additionally, the defendants stated in an express warranty that the product was safe to use; “evaporates harmlessly” from the floor; and does not require respiratory protection, fans, or ventilation while using the product. The defendants, however, failed to warn that Stand ‘n Seal could emit dangerous fumes that could result in chemical pneumonitis, pulmonary edema, lung scarring, lung damage, hypoxemia, neurological problems, and/or death if inhaled.
